Date spotted: 12th November - All Day
Location: WWT Slimbridge - Gloucester
Observation: Although the car park was almost full today, hardly seen anyone on the reserve, same goes with the birds, either too far out to photograph/see or they weren't there! Very strange! Maybe time of year. We seen the normal birds on feeders and in the tree's around alot of waders, which were being disturbed ALOT today and were up in the sky most of the time. Around 200 Golden Plover was a highlight as first time seeing them. A Grey Heron on the board-walk near the picnic area was also nice, got some lovely close-up views, with his tongue out! (We though he had caught a mouse or worm to start with! Very weird tongue!). No sign of Ibis, Purple Sandpiper on Rushy/South Lake. Also no sign of Green-Winged Teal, looking in amongst 2800+ teal can prove quite challenging when looking for a singular but very similar duck!
Weather: Blue Sky, Cold Wind, Sunny
